Newlands Community Group is a not-for-profit organisation, all of it's members including committee members are volunteers.
All of these people live in the Newlands and Berewood area, and they give up their time to raise funds, find donations, talk to businesses and other members of the community so that we can provide events, help and information, and other services for their fellow neighbours.
If you think you can spare some time to help others in any capacity, or think you have some amazing ideas, then please complete the form below to sign up as a volunteer. We would be very happy to hear from you!
Our current Terms of Reference allow for 15 committee members as well as volunteers. Each committee member is expected to attend the monthly meetings but outside of that commitment the level of involvement is discretionary and much of the work can be done remotely.

Secretary
We are currently looking for a new Secretary, can you assist us with the following role responsibilities?
- Taking the minutes of meetings and circulating them
- Helping the Chair to prepare the agenda for the meetings
- Letting people know the meetings dates/times/venues
- Writing and receiving letters on behalf of the group
- Keeping a record of membership including contact details, etc.
- Managing all internal communications within the group
- Ensure all relevant paperwork is kept in line with legislation
- Promote the group
Volunteers
We are currently looking for volunteers, can you use your skillsets to assist us with improving the local area?
Sports & Well-being Co-ordinator
We are currently looking for a new Sports & Well-being Co-ordinator, can you assist us with the following role responsibilities?
- Take the lead on all sports and well-being events
- Work with the events co-ordinator to arrange suitable events
- Build a database of local organisations and promote where appropriate
- Support local teams in gaining members such as Berewood Panthers
On the volunteer front (of which we are all volunteers) it would be useful if we had a couple of first aiders and maybe people with marshal / stewarding experience.
